Primping Thoughts…
As I was blow-drying my hair this evening, I had a thought about the education system in the United States. If we’re having a problem with poverty and people not being able to afford education, wouldn’t making education more affordable decrease that problem? I don’t even understand why people should have to pay at all to learn. If someone has the desire to learn, that is so great and rare and I don’t think someone’s financial situation should prevent them from doing that. The money someone might spend on a college education could hold them back from even starting, let alone climbing out of debt after graduation. College has gotten rediculously expensive - some over $50,000 for one year! Luckily for me, my college education will most likely cost less that my high school education (because I am a senior at a private school) but that is hardly the case for most Americans. I just think if there’s anything we can do to encourage more people to want to learn and earn degrees, we should!
